If I Were My Website

If I were my website I would hate me right about now.

I'd be finding a way to be a Chaos Monkey. Although I run on Jekyll and I'm pretty much static, I'd be looking for a hole - an Alcatraz moment - to break free and make my user aware that I need some words. Something. Anything. How hard can it be? Tap, tap, tap all day on that keyboard. A tweet here, an email there, a resized image, a git commit … don't even get me started on "The Facebook".

But what about me? What's a website supposed to do? It's not like I'm going to become self-aware any time soon. My Heroku dyno just sits there, being unintelligently routed from what I hear, receiving less and less requests every minute. As my system clock ticks on I wonder if it will be like this forever.

I don't dream of electric sheep: I dream of a git push.

If I were my website I would hate me right about now.
